Flipped Classroom on Vocabulary Teaching
Hey everyone welcome to my blog again 🫶🏻
This week we were tasked with preparing an activity called “flipped classroom.”
The term "flipped classroom" refers to an educational approach in which conventional teaching techniques are inverted or "flipped". In this method the students get prior knowledge about the topic in their regular classes. After that they engage with instructional content such as video lectures. Classroom time is used for interactive discussions and activities. With this method teachers can focus on students’ individual needs without taking too much of the classroom time. Flipped classrooms also make it possible for students to enhance their self-learning skills. In my opinion, this method is very beneficial for both the students and the teachers.
We were assigned to create a flipped teaching material for an EFL classroom. Our target audience was 5th grade students. Together with my group friends Çağla and Gülce, we chose the topic called Movies from Meb's 5th grade book. We prepared a word learning activity. While doing this, we thought that the Canva application was the most suitable and prepared our slide from this application. Çağla prepared our slide. Gülce and I also contributed to the events. We recorded our voices and created several interactive activities. I think that this task we have prepared is very useful for our teaching life. We used technology by intertwining it in a beneficial way in education.
This task challenged us in some places, but it was an assignment from which you learned a lot. I can't wait to use this information when I become a teacher.
Thanks for reading.
See you our next class. 🩷
