Learning in the 21st Century

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog and my first article. Today I will discuss what learning is and its importance in the 21st century.

First of all, education in the 21st century has an understanding that targets a rapidly changing world. Education in the 21st century is more flexible and more creative, which has given students new skills such as critical thinking. At the same time, we can see that students are now more collaborative and working in harmony with others. In this century, teachers have also become more student-centered.

Now let's look at the 21st century from another aspect. This age is called the age of information and technology. Accessing information is now easier than ever. As a teacher candidate born in the 21st century, I am aware of the positive relationship technology has with education. It is a known fact that the correct use of technology in the classroom affects learning in a good way. Student needs and expectations of each age are different. Learning in the 21st century requires being intertwined with technology.

Finally, I think the use of mother tongue in classrooms makes it difficult to learn the target language, especially in English education. Besides, rote-based learning is far behind the learning needs of students of this age and I think it slows down learning. Those were my thoughts, thank you for reading. See you <3
