Hello everyone, we have come to the end of the semester. This blogpost is a bit emotional for me because we have left another era behind. Current Issues in ELT was a course I definitely enjoyed I had difficulties in the tasks we did this semester and experienced situations that I had difficulty understanding. But it proved that this lesson taught me a lot. I really liked about this course was that I got to prepare materials not as a student but as a teacher candidate instead. I will definitely use what I learned in this course when I become a teacher in the future. The AR/VR integrated material was my favorite one because I like designing it and found it interesting to experience AR/VR. I had a lot of fun doing this task. The most difficult and least fun thing I had to do was the corpus-based teaching material because it took me a long time to do this task and it took me a long time to understand how to do it. AI-integrated material

Hello everyone. For our last assignment of the term, we were supposed to create an AI-integrated material, with the target audience being preparation EFL learners in high school. My group friends were İrem Çınar and Defne Baskan . While preparing this task, we divided it into three and divided the work. We all prepared an activity.  We found and use a decent writing task from the book that was provided and added it to our material.  We found a way to make students use AI tools such as Grammarly and ChatGPT while doing this writing task. We decided that Canva was the most suitable application for this task and we used Canva. Thank you for reading. AR/VR Integrated Project

 Hey everyone, this week we were assigned to write an AR/VR project. On this task, we worked with my group friends İrem Çınar and Defne Baskan . First of all, we had to choose a city for this task and introduce a few of the most important buildings in that city and the famous food of that city. So we decided to examine New York City. We decided which structures we would examine and did some research on these structures and added them to our presentation. We supported our presentation with relevant visuals and made it interesting. Our target audience for this assignment was high school students. We added a 360-degree panorama of the buildings by adding a QR code so that students could see and experience the buildings we examined better. We used Canva while doing our project. Flipped Classroom on Vocabulary Teaching

Hey everyone welcome to my blog again 🫶🏻  This week we were tasked with preparing an activity called “flipped classroom.” The term "flipped classroom" refers to an educational approach in which conventional teaching techniques are inverted or "flipped". In this method the students get prior knowledge about the topic in their regular classes. After that they engage with instructional content such as video lectures. Classroom time is used for interactive discussions and activities. With this method teachers can focus on students’ individual needs without taking too much of the classroom time. Flipped classrooms also make it possible for students to enhance their self-learning skills. Corpus-Based Teaching Material

   Hello everyone, it's me again. I miss my blog so much. This time, my friend Defne and I were assigned to prepare a corpus-based teaching material. The target audience of the activity we prepared is EFL students in high school. In this regard, we chose a topic where we explain the difference between 'Any and Some'. We did research on this topic and decided which exercises to prepare.  Then we created the design from the Canva.   At first, they will discuss what the students know about this subject, then they will write it down in the table we prepared, and at the end, they will reinforce what they have learned by doing the fill-in-the-blank and true-false activities we prepared. When students do this exercise, it is aimed for them to clearly learn the difference between Some and Any.  While preparing the activities, we took into account the age group of high school students and planned activities at a level that they can learn. Hello everybody. I hope you are fine.  As always, I'm with you this week. But today's post is going to be a little emotional. Because this is actually a farewell post. I really don't understand how the whole period went by. I shared something new with you every week. There were tasks that I had a lot of difficulty with, there were tasks that I had a lot of fun with, but most importantly, I really learned a lot in all of them.  This year, we did both group homework and individual work. These assignments taught us both solidarity, individuality and working together.  The homework that helped me the most so far was the wiki assignment. I will also use this when teaching. But the homework I had the most fun doing was making a magazine cover.This semester's educational technology course has been one of the most useful courses for me. Digital Storytelling

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day.   This week we were asked to create a digital story. I also became partners with my friends İrem and Defne. We were given three options in this regard. After some discussion about this topic, we chose PSA. We also determined which subject we would like to create a story about by exchanging ideas. We watched a few sample videos from the internet to get ideas and decided to make a video about animal cruelty. We found copyright-free photos and prepared a text. Then we recorded our voice and Defne prepared a video for us. It was a very useful and fun task indeed. I love group work in general. I think this assignment will be very useful when I become a teacher in the future. It was an assignment that we used technology well as required by the 21st century.
